On Sunday, November 11, Gloucester City is commemorating 100 years since the end of World War One with a series of events throughout the day.

The traditional open air memorial service takes place at the Cenotaph, Park Road, at 10:45 am. All are invited to attend the memorial service which includes the two-minute silence at 11am and wreath laying.

Road closures will be in place between 10.45-11.15. The roads affected are: Trier Way (between Bristol Road and Eastgate Street), Park Road, Arthur Street, Belgrave Road and Wellington Street.

The service is followed by a Remembrance Military Parade at 12 noon. This year's special parade will be led by the Salvation Army Band and will include military personnel and ex-servicemen. All veterans are warmly invited to take part in the parade and should meet at the muster point at the back of the Library

The Right Worshipful Mayor of Gloucester, accompanied by dignitaries and councillors, will take the salute outside Gloucester Guildhall, before the parade makes its way down to the Cathedral grounds. The full route is: Constitution Walk (back of Boots), Eastgate Street, Westgate Street, College Court, Cathedral Grounds.
